New Art in the Story Room

We are so fortunate to have a beautiful painting by recent AIS graduate Olivia Messer in our Story Room. Olivia painted the work before she graduated this May. The vibrant, bold primary colors add so much fun and excitement to our space! We all enjoy the cheerful atmosphere invoked by this lovely piece of art.

New Easy Reader Shelving

Have you seen our new round Easy Reader shelving? Just like at the bookstores -- with lots of space and opportunities to see all the colorful covers on our Easy Reader books. They have really caught the students' attention and have been checked out in great numbers. I'm so proud of our students, too. They have been very responsible with the shelf "spinners"!

Library Bags

This year kindergarteners and first graders will continue to use library bags. Please help your student remember to bring their library books in their library bag each week on library day. We will not let the students select more books unless they have a library bag into which the books can be placed. Without this policy, checked books are often "shelved" by the students (without regard to our shelving guidelines - smile) before they leave the library. If this happens, it is extremely difficult to locate the book again. Thanks for your understanding on this point and keep those bags coming!
