Book Reviews from Language Book Weeks

We are beginning to post audio book reviews for books that have been previewed during the new Language Book Week program. Fiction from one of the languages of instruction, English, French, German and Spanish, will be reviewed with interested classes each week during the school year (with a few exceptions depending on the school calendar). The reviewer will also record an audio book review on one or more of the books that is shared with the students. Fall Book Fair a Great Success!

The Book Fair Blizzard moved through the library last week and snowed us all with great fun, book shopping opportunities and general excitement for much of the school! The library opened on Monday morning, November 12 with "snowflakes" glittering throughout. Shoppers crowded the library Tuesday through Friday, purchasing picture books, middle school series, holiday gift books and more. Customers also donated several hundreds of dollars in change toward Scholastic's promise to give a book to a needy child for every dollar donated by AIS shoppers during the book fair. By our calculations, some 300 books will be distributed by Scholastic as a result of the donations we collected. Although final calcuations are in progress, early figures suggest that the AIS Library will receive several thousand dollars for book purchases thanks to the Book Fair. We are so grateful to everyone who participated in and supported the Book Fair!
