Exhibition Projects on Display

Fifth grade Exhibition projects are on display in the library. Students this year inquired into issues relating to personal health and well-being such as obesity, body image, stress, smoking and others. They will present their projects to their parents and other guests on Wednesday, Feb. 3. Please stop by the library to see these wonderful and informative projects!

Second Graders Attend Milner Award

Second graders attended the Milner Award presentation on Thursday, January 29. The presentation, given annually to an author selected by the children of Atlanta, took place at the Central Branch of the Atlanta-Fulton County Library System. The honoree for 2008 was David Shannon, author and illustrator of numerous books for children, including "No David", "Alice the Fairy", "A Bad Case of Stripes" and others. Students learned the story behind the story on these favorite books and then had the opportunity to obtain Shannon's autograph on personal copies of his books! The field trip connected well with the second grade unit of inquiry, "Look What We Can Do!"
