Summer Reading Activities
How is your summer reading so far? Have you read any GREAT books? Maybe you are looking for something to do now that we are in the middle of the summer vacation. Here are some ideas for fun activities that relate to your summer reading:
1. Make a crossword puzzle about your book using Discovery School's Puzzlemaker.
2. Ask someone to take a picture of you reading your favorite book and bring it to the library in August -- make sure we can see the cover of the book!
3. Write ten multiple choice questions about your favorite summer reading book. If possible, we'll use some or all of them to create an Accelerated Reader reading quiz on the book.
4. What is your favorite summer sport? Can you find (and read) a book at your library or bookstore about a person who excels at that sport?
5. Create a bookmark about your favorite book to share with a classmate when school starts. On one side tell a little about the book. On the other side, create an illustration for the book.
Whatever you do, be sure you include time for summer reading. I look forward to seeing you in August with lots of new books for you to check out from the library.
Happy reading,
Mrs. Hermann
