Parent Workshops on Library Electronic Resources

On October 29, 30 and 31, I will be hosting parent workshops on our primary school electronic resources. Each workshop will be 45 minutes long. We will take a look at our "virtual library" and some of the exciting research and reading resources available for students from kindergarten and up. I hope you will be able to attend one of these sessions -- each session will follow the same agenda and all sessions will be held in the library computer lab. In previous years, parents have found these sessions to be very helpful and it is always fun to share resources and ideas together. My goal is that by the end of the workshop you will be able to locate and use these great learning tools and help your child to do so as well.

The schedule will be as follows. Please RSVP to Sharon Hermann, Primary School Librarian - (404) 841-3840, ext. 139 - and indicate which session you plan to attend. Thanks and hope to see you there!

October 29 - Two sessions
8:15 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.
6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

October 30 - One session
6:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m.

October 31 - One Session
8:15 a.m. - 9:00 a.m.

Fall Book Fair Promises an Exciting Book Safari!

The upcoming Scholastic Fall Book Fair, set for November 3, 4, 5 and 6, will be a Reading Safari, and students will be invited to experience book reading adventures and safari themed decorations in the library! Parent co-chairpersons are hard a work to transform the library once again -- to take readers to another place in time to celebrate reading and have fun shopping for new books.

This year the Scholastic Fall Book Fair has its own webpage where families can get information on dates, times, featured books and volunteer opportunities. Please be sure and go to the book fair website for updates on this exciting annual fundraiser for the AIS Library.
