Accelerated Reader Challenge Update

As of April 21, some 121 students had participated in the Accelerated Reader Challenge and had passed quizzes on over 270 books! Lots of students have "joined the team" and about 30 or so students have earned "hat trick" stickers (meaning they have passed 3 or more quizzes). Excitement is running high and students check the AR board in the library regularly to look for team members' names. It's fun to see your name in print, but, more importantly, it's fun to read! For more details on the progess of the challenge, stop by the library and take a look at the AR board.

Take a Look at "New Books" Link

As the old expression goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words." So take a look at the link to "New Books and Book Talks" on the right hand menu. We are using Library Thing to include images of the covers of some of our new books. Pretty cool, right? Please check out some of these new books and read them with your student.

Native American Projects Enjoyed by All!

The Grade 3 students have graciously allowed the PS Library to display their Native American projects for all to enjoy. The PS Library displays student projects connected with the "Steps in History" unit each year around this time and each year the AIS community is impressed with the originality and creativity of our third grade students and the knowledge that their work reflects. Please come by to see these wonderful projects if you have not done so already!
